We believe that education is more than just a rigid recipe. It should be a personal journey, shaped around the individual needs of every child.
Students at St Joseph's College are not on a conveyor belt propelling them towards exams and then university in a predictable, unimaginative way. We would like them, in the words of the Hon. Gwendolen Fairfax, to "develop in many directions".
We aim to give all children the opportunity to – quite simply – be their best.
Central to our educational philosophy is the belief that diversity of opportunity is vital in creating balance in learning. An extraordinary range of options beyond academic subjects – encompassing clubs and societies, leadership roles, academic extension, adventure training, sports, the arts, travel and charity work – broadens our students' experiences and properly prepares them for the future.
The value added to each student in terms of examination results is outstanding, but life at St Joseph’s College is about so much more than just the excellent examination results we achieve with students of all abilities. The school’s unique ethos is evident throughout. Children develop to become confident, caring, independent thinkers, well prepared for further education and the world beyond school.
