Our Rugby Summer School combines professional coaching, English tuition and cultural experiences to help students grow in skill, confidence and character. Fred Wenham
Director of Sport
Fred brings experience from professional sport and independent schools. He is dedicated to helping young athletes grow their confidence, make good decisions on and off the pitch, and develop their potential through our proven pathway for talent. Fred believes in depth over dilution, in a community that knows every name.
Josh Sharp
Rugby Development Coach
Josh is a former Northampton Saints Academy coach with extensive experience developing young talent. He brings professional insight and passion to every player and is currently Academy & Pathway Manager at Cambridge Rugby Club.
Mike Haywood
Rugby Professional
Mike, a former Northampton Saints hooker, has over 150 Premiership appearances. He is committed to developing skills, game understanding and leadership in young athletes through his professional-level coaching without the pressure of scale.
Rowland Winter
Director of Rugby
Rowland has over 20 years of experience coaching across professional clubs, national games and schools. He has guided teams to league titles and cup finals, worked with England U20 players, and developed academy talent at Northampton Saints. Since 2022, Rowland had been building on the legacy of excellence in rugby at St Joseph’s College by developing individual potential, building confidence and a lifelong love of the game.

First of all I’d like to say a big thank you to St Joseph’s for inviting Lashings back again. Participating in the charity cricket match with St. Joseph’s school last year was an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only did we get to showcase our cricketing skills, but we saw a lot of fine young cricketers showing their skills too.
Balancing my career in football with my studies has been a challenge, but it is my desire to achieve in both that keeps me grounded. My ambition is to achieve a successful career in football, but I know this will probably have a limited time span and that I will need a good set of results to rely on.
