The Sixth Form provides an enlivening and dynamic approach to education, with students being encouraged and inspired by the Sixth Form management team. This team is led by the Head of Sixth Form, who has overall responsibility, a Head of Year 13 and a Head of Year 12 who in turn lead a team of tutors who manage the day-to-day pastoral needs of the students.
Tutor groups are deliberately small, allowing the tutors to develop strong working relationships with the students, supporting them through the rigours of A-level and BTEC study, both academically and pastorally. Students’ progress and behaviour is closely monitored with expectations clearly established, goals set and robust, constructive and effective procedures applied if a student falls below the required standard in any aspect of their school life. Regular contact and conversations between staff, students and parents enable the monitoring of progress throughout each term.
