You don't have to have spent your whole school life at St Joseph's to join our vibrant and challenging Sixth Form.
The Sixth Form is such a critical stage in educational development that it makes sense to study somewhere with the facilities, the culture and the focus to help you perform to your best – where you are known as an individual and not just as a potential examination grade.
In its Sixth Form, St Joseph’s College welcomes students from other local and overseas schools to join its 180-strong community, where the ethos and the teaching produce remarkable results and an unforgettable experience.
The focus for most Sixth Form students is naturally on A-levels and BTEC courses, but St Joseph’s College does more than just prepare its students for exams. To make the leap from school to the adult world of university or work means acquiring a broader range of life skills. We encourage students to take responsibility for their own success, learning how to be self-reliant and resourceful as well as supportive of others. We nurture a team spirit through the community of our Sixth Form, sharing the experience of study, recreation and performance, as well as a vibrant social life.
The College’s Sixth Form Centre opened in 2016, it was specifically designed to provide an environment that blends independent study with appropriate recreation and that fosters the feeling of community. The Centre features a comfortable central Atrium with excellent AV facilities; an air-conditioned and soundproofed study room; a vibrant dining area with kitchen facilities; showers; and lockers with phone and laptop chargers.
A wide range of highly experienced and dedicated staff are on hand to support each young person’s development and progression, including the College’s Head of Sixth Form & Progression, Head of Boarding, Director of Studies, and our Futures' Co-ordinator, whose role is to work with students to help them to identify and realise their post-school directions and ambitions.
