The Senior Leadership Team at St Joseph’s College is comprised of:
Mrs Clarke has worked in both the maintained and independent education sectors, holding a range of senior management and leadership roles. She is a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher and has taught French, German, Spanish and Latin.
She was appointed to the position of Vice Principal at St Joseph’s in 2007 and to Principal of the College in January 2014, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of all aspects of the school including safeguarding, academic performance, pastoral care, boarding, finance and health and safety.
She is a member of the Society of Heads and of the Independent Schools Council Futures’ Group. As well as sitting on Suffolk’s Safeguarding Children board, she is a trained ISI Team Inspector.

Dr Hine was appointed Head of the Prep School in 2005 and led the Prep School team to its “excellent” ISI rating in March 2013, awarded for excellent pupil attainment; the quality of pupils’ learning and teachers’ teaching; the quality of the curriculum; and its extra-curricular activities. In 2014 he was promoted to the position of Vice Principal of the College.
Dr Hine works closely on the College’s Development Plan, as well as developing the quality of student and staff learning and education. As well as being an advocate of extending community relations, particularly alongside the Parent Teacher Association, he teaches students at the University of Suffolk on the MA in Education course; is a consultant to the primary and secondary strands of the North Essex Teacher Training consortium; and is the school leadership advisor to the Headteacher at the Osiligi Obaya Primary School in Kenya.
With more than 20 years in education, Mr Cinnamond joined St Joseph's in 2016 to lead the Sixth Form and the College's Futures & Progression programme, having spent the previous 10 years as the Director of Sixth Form at his previous school where he had also held the post of Head of History and Head of Humanities.
He is a consultant to the Historical Association and has experience in teacher training for Hodder History as well as working as a masterclass presenter for gifted and talented children for the Gabbitas Truman and Thring Foundation. Mr Cinnamond has also managed a number of bi-lateral and multi-school international partnerships.
Mrs Baber has been the St Joseph’s College Bursar for over 17 years. She is responsible for all financial aspects of the College including financial strategy, long term forecasts and all other non-academic aspects of the school including Health and Safety, Medical, Tier 4, HR compliance, Estates, IT, Catering, Finance, and Transport. She is also a trained Compliance Inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
Mrs Rowlands has been at the College for 15 years in a range of pastoral and academic leadership roles and is a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher, with a degree in Spanish and German.
Mrs Rowlands is the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Boarding and Senior School and has oversight of Boarding and supports pastoral and safeguarding within the College
Appointed in April 2017, as the Assistant Principal Pastoral - Boarding & International Student Development and Achievement, Mrs Rowlands now lives on campus with her family.
Mr O’Riordan was formerly Director of Rugby and Head of BTEC at St Joseph’s College, before assuming the role of Assistant Principal – Director of Sport & Extra-Curricular. He is responsible for all sporting and extracurricular strategy.
Mr O’Riordan joined the College having worked as Development Group Head Coach at Hartpury College and is currently Director of Rugby at Colchester Rugby Club.
Having trained at Homerton College, the University of Cambridge, Mrs Harvey has over 20 years of experience teaching Art & Design in both the maintained and independent sectors. She joined St Joseph’s College in 2005 as Head of Art & Design and four years later was promoted to the Head of Creative & Performing Arts. Experienced in leading high profile initiatives, she has widened and diversified the Creative & Performing Arts curriculum and ultra-curricular opportunities leading the College to receive the highest level of recognition from Arts Council, England, being awarded consecutively Artsmark Gold since 2010. In 2018, she was appointed to the position of Assistant Principal Arts & Academic.
Mrs Harvey is also responsible for scholars, international educational exchange programmes and managing trips and visits across the College.
Mrs Wood has over 20 years of experience teaching throughout the 3 – 11 age range in both the maintained and independent education sectors. Her specialism is Computing as well as the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Appointed as Deputy Head of Prep School in 2013 and promoted to Head of Prep School in 2017, she is responsible for Prep pupils’ academic curriculum, their achievement and their pastoral care.
A member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools, Mrs Wood works as a personal tutor for Initial Teacher Training at the University of Suffolk and as a consultant for EYFS training.

Perry recently left Forth Ports Ltd after 18 years as their Chief Operating Office and Managing Director of the Port Of Tilbury London Ltd and a number of Ports on the East coast of Scotland. Prior to that he was a main board director of Geest North Sea line, a European logistics provider.
Currently he provides Chairman and Non Exec roles for a number of public and private organisations. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and the Chartered Institute of Logistics.
Perry has a daughter in the Sixth Form and has been a governor of the school since September 2014.

A Solicitor by profession, Richard has specialised in employment law for 25 years and has his own specialist employment law firm. Richard has two sons in the Senior School and has been a governor of St Joseph's College since December 2003.
