Congratulations to Rosa Kou, this month’s Artist of the Month!
Hi, I’m Rosa, I have been deeply interested in Art since I was 8 years old.
It started with an art competition. I drew the ocean using my imagination and even though I didn’t win the competition, it still motivated me and made me start having an interest in art.
I really love the way I can express myself and just spend hours focusing, creating, it’s like a mental therapy for me as well.
I draw life sketches most of the time, like people and objects; but I am actually more interested in concept designing, which is called “anime”. This interest was inspired by comics and cartoons by Disney, Pixar etc. I love how I can translate that style of art into my fine art studies, through tone and colour.
I’m not sure yet what I want to do in the future, but I know it will involve art. It’s very important to find the tool and style that fits you, quality isn’t always the key but creativity matters, just make sure you don’t stop exploring your skill and enjoy yourself with it.
