Life in Boarding

Life in Boarding is safe, structured, purposeful and fun.

Time is well-balanced between study, recreation and relaxation. There are no weekend exeats and our Boarding Plus offering means that, if required, accommodation can be made available during the school’s half-term holidays.

Our boarders join us from near and far. In recent years we have welcomed students from the UK, Spain, France, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Nigeria, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Ghana, Malawi, Hong Kong, Bangladesh and Dubai.

There are well over 100 clubs and activities available to our students. Extra opportunities for students boarding at the College include weekend activities and visits, and sport is available at our onsite facilities at least three evenings per week following structured study periods.

We regularly organise visits to London’s West End theatres and to Cambridge. There are trips to watch sporting events, and tours for rugby, hockey, cricket and netball. Add to these the fun visits to local attractions, including trampolining, go-karting and ice skating; plus trips designed to broaden the cultural experiences of our students. We organise international art and cultural travel to European cities such as Amsterdam, Rome, and Paris and even to North America.

The College’s beautiful 60-acre campus offers a green oasis for students, and at the weekend the short trip into Ipswich, the local town, provides cultural and heritage attractions, shopping and eating out.
