Strong academic achievement is the ambition for every student at St Joseph's College
St Joseph’s College accepts boarders from 10 to18 years and provides a broad and engaging curriculum. Alongside traditional academic subjects such as English, Maths and Science, we offer opportunities for high achievement in technology, business, the Arts and sport.
School Years 7-9 (Lower School)
Students study a broad and balanced curriculum, developing their knowledge, language and learning skills.
School Years 10 and 11 (Upper School)
Students study for GCSE and BTEC examinations, choosing from the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Art and Design, Business Studies, Creative iMedia, Dance, Drama, Engineering, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Geography, History, Music, Photography, Physical Education, Psychology, Religious Education, Spanish, Textiles and IGCSE English as a Second Language.
School Years 11-13 (Age 16-18 years)
As students mature they can specialise and study to higher levels on a range of course types, all of which prepare them for university. St Joseph’s College offers:
- Pre A-level - Depending on academic ability, students can take GCSE Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Business, with intensive English language studies. Students will also get a chance to have taster of A-level subjects before progressing into Year 12.
- A-levels - Art (Fine Art), Biology, Business, Chemistry, Drama and Theatre Studies, Economics, English, French, Geography, History, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Mathematical Studies, Music, Photography, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish and Textiles.
- BTECs – Business Studies, Engineering, single, double and triple Sport Coaching and Development.
- English language tuition, preparing students for the IELTS examination. On site IELTS and SAT centres.
