Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) for military families
CEA for Service Children is to assist service personnel to achieve continuity of education for their children due to the mobility of their family as a consequence of consecutive assignments. If you are currently serving in one of the Armed Forces and wish to send your child for a boarding education at St Joseph’s College please contact [email protected] for further information.

Nursery Fees
Children from age 2 to 4 years old may attend St Jo’s Nursery. Opening hours are 8.00 am to 6.00 pm all year round, with the exception of two weeks during the Christmas holidays. Children who attend St Jo’s Nursery will be offered a place in St Joseph’s Prep School Reception Class (subject to Parents’ Terms and Conditions). For Parents wishing to use Government funded vouchers (from 3 years of age), please get in contact with our Admissions Team by calling 01473 694576.

This fee is due at the start of the Admissions/Application Process and includes the assessment fee. A candidate must first be registered with St Joseph’s College by completing the Registration Form and paying the Registration Fee before applications for a place or a scholarship, or means-tested bursary or an assessment may be made.

In their own words…
When a family joins the College community a door is opened to a new and wide network of friends, families and contacts. Members of the St Joseph’s community are present at the many events throughout the academic year, and many stay in touch through forums and social activities.
St Jo’s is special to me because it has truly changed my life. It allowed me to be myself while at the same time excelling academically and developing emotionally. For the incredible job the staff have done, I will always be grateful and forever in their debt for all they have given me.
I cherish my time at St Joseph’s College – studying hard and playing hard. While playing in the school rugby team, I formed lasting friendships with many other players and learnt the discipline of how to balance a hectic academic life with doing what I enjoyed most. I am grateful to this day for the emphasis on sportsmanship in rugby training – an ability to focus on the process of the tasks over the outcome – which I find most valuable to this day.

Whilst at St Jo’s, I completed a triple BTEC sport which eventually led to me graduating from the University of Exeter with a degree in Sport Science. This is something I know I would not have been able to achieve without the support provided by teachers and fellow students. Whilst at St Jo’s, I started up my own business called BWOWNIES and set out on my mission to build the best brownie brand IN THE WORLD. Everyone was super encouraging and supportive, and never stood in my way. In fact, a lot of my teachers still order to this day! After graduating in the Summer of 2022, I went full-time with BWOWNIES – it all started at St Jo’s.
As a parent of a Nursery pupil and a member of staff, I love seeing how our whole community, from the youngest to the eldest, are given the chance to shine and be the best they can be. From nativities to the College Musical, sports days to the Rugby Festival the dynamic nature of St Jo’s provides opportunities for everyone!
St Jo’s is a huge part of my family. Having been a pupil, and now teaching and sending my two sons to the College, I have had the privilege of experiencing the School as a child, parent and teacher. It is a strong, welcoming community that I am very proud to be a part of.
