Chapel

chapel_out_1_small_wince.jpgThe prominence of the Chapel on our College campus is significant. It points to other realities not always addressed in daily life, in today's world. It was built and blessed in 1967, and dedicated to St. John Baptist De La Salle, the patron saint of teachers.

John Baptist was also the founder of the De La Salle Brothers, who created and opened St Joseph's College. His spirit lives on amongst us in the care and compassion which we have not only for each other, but also for the poor and marginalised in our world. The Chapel is a constant reminder to us that God is in charge around here!

Each morning we gather in Chapel for prayer, and it is our hope that our daily focus on God helps us to begin each day with a degree of inner calm.
The Chapel also provides a venue for choral, orchestral, and theatrical works.

Throughout the week students can access the Chapel as a space for calm and quiet reflection whenever they feel the need to do so.
