fame_2009.jpgAlways among the highest expression of every culture, the arts teach us much about every historical period. Today it is recognized that to be truly educated one must not only learn to appreciate the arts, but must have rich opportunities to actively participate in creative work. At St Joseph’s College we take pleasure in bringing every arts subject to life and transforming abstractions into concrete reality.

In 2007, the College was awarded by the Arts Council England Artsmark Silver and has applied for Artsmark Gold. This award signifies the extensive range of Arts provisions and opportunities we make for every pupil. The contributions which the Arts education make to students’ spiritual development are unique to this area of the curriculum. We believe that the experiences of making and responding to the visual and performing arts are essential to our students’ well-being and that learning, as a creative and personal process, is also spiritual in nature.

Our dedicated and passionate arts staff focus on developing skills, principles and inspiration. Our aim is to develop artists and performers with a depth of vision, a passion for exploration, creative mastery, and the skills to enable them to reach their full potential. All of our students are encouraged to have fun discovering the performer and artist within themselves. Our role at St Joseph's College is to facilitate this discovery.
