Academic excellence at St Joseph's is achieved through a healthy level of questioning, challenge and support throughout a student's time in the Sixth Form. Creativity and imagination are embraced and students enjoy discovering new concepts in their chosen subjects. Self-discipline comes before freedom, and a structured approach to studying will liberate their skills and talents.

Students learn to express themselves with confidence and how to communicate at all levels while working as part of a team. Their individuality is respected, and students are encouraged to respect the dignity of everyone else in the community. There will be the opportunity to fulfil their potential in many ways: academically, culturally, and spiritually.

Education is not worthwhile if there is not contemporary relevance. Students are helped to understand the opportunities available to them in terms of their future life. It is important that they are aware of the appropriate university courses and career paths that will suit their personality and academic interests and strengths. Throughout their studies they will be reminded of the need to think ahead in this very uncertain and changing world.
