Prep School Extracurricular Activities
Excellent extracurricular provision, both at lunchtime and after school, is available for children, mostly at no additional cost. Our pupils are encouraged to do something they have never tried before whilst also improving on those activities they already love.
Our Student Council ensures the programme is always changing and reflects the interests of our pupils. Activities vary from term to term so the children can pursue a wide range of interests. These include cultural visits, trips abroad, sports matches and school discos. Our rich club programme includes reading, construction, outdoor learning, ICT, Spanish, art, dance, drama, music, golf, judo, tennis, netball, hockey, rounders, rugby, football, cricket, tennis, sailing, chess and board games.
What can bring a Geography, History or French lesson to life? In Junior 2 all the children have the opportunity of living and working on a Thames Barge, in Junior 3 all children have the opportunity of developing their cultural and linguistic understanding on a residential trip to France, whilst other residential trips include a Junior 4 stay in a mountainous wilderness setting.
The Prep School orchestra and percussion clubs meet each week so our musicians can practice together for our lunchtime and evening concerts, whole-College assemblies and performances.
We believe that it is by actively participating in such experiences that our children meet with successes, find their own areas of expertise, and build their character and spirit. By continually valuing and celebrating extra-curricular successes, from Brownie Badges to Karate Belts in our weekly Parents’ Sharing Assembly, the confidence of our children grows.
