The Annual Arts Festival is a wonderful celebration of what our St Joseph’s community is all about and has built strong traditions since its unveiling in 1994. It takes place over a week-long period in late June/early July each year. It has always explored the diverse and the different and is also a lot of fun for students, staff and parents across the whole College.
Our week-long celebration of human expression comprises daytime and evening entertainment. It includes art and photography exhibitions with multi-media, orchestral, chamber and jazz music, public speaking and debating, poetry readings, dance, drama, and ‘unplugged’ music.
Students, staff and many Old Birkfeldians (alumni), are encouraged to perform outside their comfort zone. The Prep and Senior School also collaborate on exciting projects to the benefit of both age groups. Some artistic projects take the form of workshops presented from outside agencies and occasional collaboration with other schools encourages teamwork and broadens the horizons of young minds. Communal art forms may include pavement art and poetry.
